I bought this because my son is going to be in a parade! He's only 5 months old, so I was really hoping the 6-12 month would fit him (doesn't come smaller). Sadly, no-it's HUGE. We're taking up the legs a little, and probably also taking in the seams of the jacket. I would say it definitely tends to the more 12 month range than the 6 month. It's a cute outfit, cuter than the others I've seen out there, so to me it's worth messing with a little to get it to fit. The only thing that concerned me was when I opened the package, there were a lot of loose threads stuck on the jacket. I hope this doesn't mean it will unravel later! I'll update the review if it does.
Sizes run Big!
I bought this last year for my son to wear for his Christmas pictures. The size (6-12 months) did not seem accurate. He was 10 months old when I received this and it was Enormous on him. He's 19 months now and would probably fit him fine. The outfit is really cute but the sizing wasn't quite right.

This elf costume was perfect! My son looked adorable next to his sister in her mrs. Claus dress! The shirt and pants are high quality. It didn't look like a cheap costume.
