This costume is really cute on, my biggest issue was keeping it on the dog! If your dog is happy to wear a costume, you should have no worries. You will get the desired laughs. The only negative for this item is that I wish the material had been a little better/nicer. But, it's only for 1 day a year, so who really cares?Great costume

I bought this for my Shetland sheepdog who is 33 pounds. I bought the X-Large size based on other reviews that the costume runs small. I usually buy him a large. This costume runs BIG. The X-large was way too big for him! It's still a cute costume though, and I still plan to use it. It has two Velcro closings - one around the neck and one under the stomach. Easy to put on and to take off! The little antennae at the top have bendy wires in them so you can pose them how you like. Cute shirt the only problem and that is why I did not give it 4-stars. I launder her clothing before letting her wear and I laundered this particular shirt and the red heart became unattached from the shirt. Not really sure how to get it back on but it is a cute shirt she has one in all the colors available with and without printing on it. The other shirts came out fine nothing came loose everything stayed attached.Super Cute

My dog is long in length but has a thinner torso, so this costume was right in length but way too big around her neck and body. The costume also came with some rips in the material around the stripe in the back. I contacted the company to get an exchange for a Large and told them about the tears in material and they were easy to work with. Two weeks later, the costume still had not arrived. When I called back, they told me they were out of Larges - so why didn't they just tell me that in the first place? My money was refunded, but now I am stuck with an X-Large skunk costume with rips and no Halloween costume for my dog.X-Large is NOT X-Large
I didn't read the review that someone else posted... and I wasted $20. They won't take returns and we received it only to read the back that lists dogs that are more in the 40 lb range for the X-Large size costume. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed, can't return it and it won't fit my 80lb German Shepherd puppy.... Sizing information would've really been helpful.Too small
I got the x-large, and it was still too small for my 82 pound dog. Further, the skunk tail doesn't have a loop on it, or anything that will help you keep it straight on your dog's back (you know, by putting it over the tail). So the costume keeps shifting from side to side, sometimes completely winding up upside down. I spent most of Halloween night, adjusting his costume. The only down side is that if your doggy is not that big of a fan for tight velcro fasteners, you're going to have a tough time dressing him with this. Also, it doesn't seem to stay put after a while and I have to unfasten the velcro and fasten it back for it to look nice again! haha this is a great costume. I got it for my dachshund who has been quite the trouble maker lately. I was debating between getting a small or a medium--the problem being that in terms of overall size my dachsie is small but his back is so longer the measurements match up with size Medium. I ended up going with small because I figured I didnt want him to be able to worm his way out of a costume too big. It is a bit snug and doesnt go all the way down his back but honestly I am happy it is adorable! The hat is unlikely to work for the vast majority of dogs--but they put enough effort into it by putting in ear slots that my dog will at least wear it for a few pictures. I'm happyAwesome dog costume!
I bought this for my cocker spaniel (Bandit) and my brother's dog for Halloween. They are well made and were so cute! We took the boys to the farmer's market and there was a police woman there who took time to hold their leashes as though the boys were her little prisoners for a photo op...too cute. The hat on the larger dog would slip under his neck (there's an elastic band to hold them on the head), but it might have been because he has very smooth fur and ears that stand up...not sure, but it stayed on my cocker's head great. I would definitely recommend these - we got so many compliments and smiles from everyone who saw the boys:)So so cute!

Got this for my miniature beagle who is about 25-26 lbs, but shorter/smaller than a typical mini beagle (she's some kind of mix). She's solid all around, so I usually have to go with a large so that it will fit around her torso. The fit is great - the shirt is a little long on her (since it's made for larger/longer dogs), but I just tucked it under the pants and folded over so it didn't stick out by her tail. The hat is a little weird - looked more like a chef's hat, and she hates things on her head, so probably will go without it. The stethoscope was a little awkward as it didn't really stay upright on her neck, so I just tucked the ends (the ends where the stethoscope would go into a human's ears) into the elastic band around her neck. It's a little long for her since she's so short (for a large size). Overall happy with my purchase!Great Costume!
First, I generally hate dressing dogs. That said, my medium sized terrier goes to work with me daily as a pseudo-therapy dog for my medical office. My patients love him and love seeing him in this. He was having a rash and we earned it was from his belly being on the floor so I ordered this for him to wear scrubs like the rest of us. He loves wearing them and the patients love seeing Dr. Doggie come in to calm them down! The rash is gone now but I wish I could find something similar in a little heavier weight since this is meant to be a halloween costume so it hasn't held up well for daily use for him but we have found some equally useful alternatives. I'll also add that he loves putting this on in the morning since he knows he is going to work and like me, he is happy to take it off at the end of the day too!TOO SMALL
Okay, so I have 4 dogs and I work at a vets office, so I thought this would be a cute outfit for one of them to wear when they accompany me to the clinic. I ordered the XL costume in hopes it might fit one of my two 55lb dogs or my 18lb Boston terrier; it was WAY too small to fit either one of my 55lb dogs and too large to fit my Boston.
I am giving it three stars because it is adorable and for the price you get quite a few "extras" like to stethoscope and the hat; however if it doesn't fit any of my dogs then it's a waste of money.
Cons:

I ordered the lobster costume for my chihuahua. She wears a size Small normally. But since I was ordering this online I measured her to make sure that it would fit her. Right out of the package both velcro pieces were half attached and the thread was just hanging there- its an easy fix- but really shouldnt have to fix something brand new out of the package.. (I know this part doesnt have to do with the product- but I contacted the seller and they told me they were sorry and they would be sending a replacement costume) It came and was kind of big on her, but its still pretty cute ( I have added pictures of her in the costume- I also put it on my cats just for fun and added the pics as well ).
Overall this is a cute and funny costume, it isnt like a shirt for the dog (or cat) it has velcro for around the neck and another around the stomach so it kind of rests on top of the pet- For the price its a pretty neat costume

This costume was perfect for my dog! We have a pug/dachshund mix (she weighs about 39lbs) and we have such a hard time finding stuff to fit cuz she's short and fat.. One modification of the straps and it was perfect. Normally I have to make lots of adjustments but this was just a perfect fit. It also fits my American pit perfectly, (she's weighs 47lbs) no adjustments needed at all. Id suggest that if you have a plump dog, go with the large size even if they are a smaller dogLooks great!
