This product SUCKS! It was not the same pattern. SIZE is very deceiving. U have to b 300 lbs to wear this outfit. Anyone a size 18 and down and under 5/5, DO NOT PURCHASE. Also, this iteam was to be shipped in 1 day and it did not arrive until 4 days later. I was charged for next day delivery and I am still waiting for my refund 10 days in.This Groovy mama was a hit!

I ordered the dress in what I thought was one size up, but it just barely fits, especially over my chest. No zipper or elastic, and no stretch. The elastic on the arms is really tight on me, but I do have big arms. The sleeves are separate from the dress.
The dress also does not match exactly. the sleeves are much more slender, the bows are thinner (~1 inch wide), the shape is not as poofy with a petticoat. I don't think it has enough material to be that poofy. The part that goes around the back of the skirt with the two bows doesn't go as far forward as this dress shows. The top layer of the skirt part also doesn't seem to lay flat, and it is one layer with two strings of lace, not two layers as pictured. Also the bows do not look tied, they are sewn into bow shape. I bought this as a Christmas present -- yes, someone's Christmas list actually had a "Chiquita Banana hat" on it. The person making the request is way too young to know who Carmen Miranda is, but I knew immediately and thus started my quest to find a reasonably priced hat.
The base of the hat is slightly stretchy, and it is a snug fit on a larger head but not uncomfortably snug. I could see this fitting someone with a smaller head as well because of the stretch factor. The two-tone sequins (red and purple) create a perfectly silly but joyful base for the real stars of the show: the glitter fruits. The grapes on this hat do not drape as much as shown in the picture, but maybe that's because the person here who was wearing it has a larger head. The glitter did not come off excessively even though it was handled a whole lot the first day, but the feathers at the top rear are a bit touchy and have the tendency to fall off. I used this hat for a theatre production. I hurriedly put it on over 15 times without tearing all the fruit off. Although it was designed for "costume use" it really held up pretty well considering the abuse it took and looked sparkly and pretty under the stage lights. I am saving it for future costume use. This costume is not too revealing or too conservative. It brings clear straps which attach to the dress if you need more support, the sleeves, dress, choker, and crown headband. It's perfect. I loved this costume. The one-size-fits-all even worked for me and it usually doesn't! I am 5'2" and a size 12 and am placing the picture above. It has ribbons on the side to tie in the back to help show off your curves as little or as much as you'd like. The costume itself was comfortable, my husband and I got a ton of compliments, and it was flattering too!!! The poofy parts are stuffed, the edges are foam, and the outfit itself is a silky material that feels great against the skin (not itchy at all like with most costumes in my opinion). I kept the hat poofy by stuffing some plastic grocery bags into the top. Sitting down was not a problem at all. Just remember to hike it up if you take big steps like when you are hurrying around. I love this costume and am happy with it, but I did have some little problems. I read other reviews that said the vest was too small and had that problem too, but I chose not to send it back for a larger size because the dress itself fit fine and didn't want to risk getting a dress that was too big just for the vest. That was my only real issue, but the belt also was a little small (but easily replaceable) and the plastic boning on the vest poked out really quickly. Other than that, I love that it's all separate. It's a beautiful shade of red, and looks great without the vest (so long as you have a belt. A wide belt really brings the whole look together without the vest.) I'm very pleased with it, even with the little issues, because this is still one of the best costumes I've ever purchased.Gorgeous Costume!!
I absolutely love this costume! It is exactly as pictured. The quality of the costume is much better than I was expecting. I ordered this in early October to ensure that I had time to exchange it for a different size if needed. Fortunately, using the measurements guide, it fits perfectly! Oh, I must mention that the hat that comes with the costume is rather under-stated and cheap looking, so I went to a local Halloween store and paid $20 for a larger, sturdier hat. I'm giving this item 5 stars because I love it. However, I was not able to purchase it from this site. There are two descriptions. One is BROWN and the other is RED. I looked back and forth multiple times and could see no difference between the "Brown" item and the "Red" item. Despite that, I wasn't going to take a chance (with Halloween so near) of ordering something that might ship to me in brown (?) when I wanted red. I'm not even clear on what part of the costume might have been brown anyway. The dress, perhaps?
It's unfortunate that I had to order this same item from another site. The prices were just about the same but I would have preferred to order through my most-trusted and always-used Amazon.com. I'm sorry that I couldn't take the chance - but I did think that I should let you know about the confusion with your listing.
