I bought the pirate shirt for two purposes: Halloween and a convention I'm going to. The shirt is a nice lightweight material (so not good for cold weather), and the sleeves can be worn comfortable at full length or tucked up. There was no constricting sewing, which meant I had full movement in the arms and shoulders.
My only complaint is that the elastic around the shoulders did not hold it's place, even when worn with a bodice. I pulled the shirt down around my shoulders, but it slid back up around my neck almost immediately. I'm not sure if this would happen if I bought the larger size.
