XL says size 14-16, but is more like a 10-12 at least. can't button it, but keeping it and wearing it anyway because the jacket really is gorgeous.

If you Google "elegant pirate lady costume reviews" you might still find a bunch of reviews on a website where the item is out of stock & discontinued. I am so glad I took their advice. The costume runs very small & you need to buy a size "up". I am 5'4" 110 lb, & solidly a "small" or "medium" in anything else. I took the reviewers' advice & ordered a "large". Though I had second thoughts afterward, it was the right choice -- medium would have been too small. Ignore the manufacturer's size chart, which is useless.
The coat is gorgeous! It looks very rich & elegant. The buttons have little skulls & crossbones on them, & the stand-up collar & cuffs are nice. This is one snazzy jacket.
The pants, as other reviewers elsewhere noted, are TINY. Large are skin-tight on me (35" hip). Waist measurement is irrelevant -- they don't come up that far. I like low-rise jeans, but these are so short in the crotch they'll barely cover your bottom. So you may want to substitute...

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was true to size as far as xs goes, I am not sure I would call it a 3-5 though it was more like a 0-2 (as I am). Cute and fun costume and comfy.
