This costume is certainly good enough for my purpose. I used the size chart to determine fit, and it is pretty accurate. I didn't rate it 5 stars, as in the process of unpacking one of the buttons came off, and while trying it on, another came off. So I start off with a sewing task before I can use it. Not a huge deal.
The costume detail is pretty good. The long maroon morning coat(shirt) and ivory blouse are one piece, with a tie behind sash to help for fit and tailoring. Could wear this without the outer coat and still have an effective full costume. The boot toppers and leather-like outer coat are effective and have good texture as well. The brown pirate pants are light cotton, stop just below the knee, and very lightweight with a light stretch elastic waistband..airy..mostly won't show, so I may substitute something more substantial just to feel safer! Not what expected
This item was NOT what I was expecting. When I took the item out of the package it was completely squished into a little bag. I was wondering how a tricorn hat was going to fit in it. I found all the items that were supposed to be in the bag, but the hat was a crinkled up wire mess that can not be shaped into any semblance of a hat. I tried the costume on. In the 5 minutes it took me to put it on and walk to the mirror, two button popped off of the vest/shirt combo. There was no tension on the buttons to pop them off, they simply fell off of the vest/shirt. The jacket and pants did fit as described but it is so shoddily made with its ragged seams and low density fabric light actually travels through them. I would not recommend this item.
better than I expected
everything fit and the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the hat, it fit fine, but it will take a lot of work to get it to look like the picture, but over all I love the costume. :)
