Every Halloween, I'm really indecisive about what I want to be. This year I decided to be a pirate, but I'm also really picky. This costume doesn't scream pirate (more so without the hat), but it looked cute and it was inexpensive. I didn't have high expectations for this costume after reading the other two reviews. When I received it, it didn't look packaged well and the costume wasn't sealed in the packaging. Surprisingly though the costume was in good shape. None of the buttons fell off like one other review mentioned. It is definitely short...I'm 5'7 and yes it also just covered my butt. I plan on wearing leggings. I really think this costume is nice. My mom even thought it was nice and she's big on quality.
Not a dress
I don't see how this could be worn as a dress unless you are 4 feet tall or under. You'll need to sew the buttons on, since they fall off if you just look at them. I mean even the woman in the photo looks like she forgot to wear pants.The sleeve and "dress fabric is attached to the jacket part. The "dress" fabric is very shiny and is covered in gold swirly glitter which falls off. The jacket part is really nice though. I ended up cutting off the "dress" and attaching my own sleeves then wearing a pirate shirt, brown leggings and knee boots.
Junk, unfortunately!
This costume is attractive but unfortunately very poorly made. The zipper broke after only minutes of wear!
Also of note is that the item is SHORT! I am 5 feet 6 and it barely covered my rear end.....plan on being a VERY sexy buccaneer girl or plan on wearing leggings :)
