Was purchased for a party. This French Maid Costume features a black crushed velvet dress with ruffled under skirt, satin cap sleeves and satin bodice with four buttons and a small black bow. It included a satin apron, matching Headpiece and a garter. Stockings, heels and the feather duster were not included.very well done
This is actually a costume that is comfortable! Size is according to normal sizes, unlike most costumes that you have to size up, sometimes more than once. Very cute and as described. Arrived promptly, packaged well and priced well. Good purchase!Worth the buy for an event.
The only reason I rated this a 4/5 and not 5/5 is because its a bit too short and I was thinking it would hit mid thigh. I must wear with shorts. Other than that it's good quality for a great price. Shipped faster than anticipated. I would buy from this seller again.> Click to See Editorial Reviews

I ordered the dress in what I thought was one size up, but it just barely fits, especially over my chest. No zipper or elastic, and no stretch. The elastic on the arms is really tight on me, but I do have big arms. The sleeves are separate from the dress.
The dress also does not match exactly. the sleeves are much more slender, the bows are thinner (~1 inch wide), the shape is not as poofy with a petticoat. I don't think it has enough material to be that poofy. The part that goes around the back of the skirt with the two bows doesn't go as far forward as this dress shows. The top layer of the skirt part also doesn't seem to lay flat, and it is one layer with two strings of lace, not two layers as pictured. Also the bows do not look tied, they are sewn into bow shape. Although the chest and upper arms of the costume were well padded to give the muscle look, the lower torso and forearms were completely paddingless, ruining the effect. The claws were so horribly flimsy I had to go out and buy a separate pair. There was no X-Men belt buckle either. The lower portion fit like baggy pyjama pants. All in all, I would rate this costume a 6.5/10Poor customer service for a good product.
The product was fine. However, I cannot rate the vendor as well as the merchendise. Shortly after ordering the costume we discovered we were going to be unable to use it. When I called to return it, I discovered that the return policy for this product did not permit a return. However, I asked to speak to a manager in order to request an exception since the costume was purchased for a fundraising event for a school library. This all occurred after Halloween. we were trying to return it since any expense would come out of the money we were trying to make for the school. I was shuffled through three operators only to be given the email for an individual who could supposedly make the final decision. It has been over a month and I have yet to here a response from them. I am not claiming they should have given me a return, I know I was requesting an exception to the rule. However, the lack of response speaks volumes about the management. As I am the first to review this item I can hopefully save many potential buyers the pain, heartache, embarassment and medical bills I experienced. Contrary to the description of this product, these pants are not intended for actual parachuting, skydiving, or even falls from relatively short heights.
