The breastplate, wrists and legs guards are foam and will stay flat! The breastplate needs some straps in the back to hold the costume together. It really is a custom for younger children. My nine year old was very disappointed when we received it; he was expecting something less babyish. Granted it only costs $17! You get what you pay for. It took a long time to arrive too. we had to order the delux costume instead. it will be here tomorrow and I hope it will be better because Halloween is right around the corner! We are keeping it anyway so that my son can share with his freinds and cousins when they come over.
