I liked the look of this product and the feel was nice as well. The craftsmanship was good compared to most costumes you find at the stores. The only issue I had with this product was the sizing. "one size fits most adults" is not a proper sizing tool and did not work in my case. I am of average height. I am slim muscular build and the top part of the costume didn't come down to my waist. It should have not only come to my waist but provided some overlap with the pants.
All in all the costume will be okay if you are shorter, then the pants may be a little long, or if you find a shirt that is a close match to the costume so you can blend the mid section.

The mad scientist costume is truly maddening! I am using it for the Monster Mash song in a variety show. Instead of the hyper needle, I am using a bubble gun that jolts the monsters wtih bubbles instead of electrodes. Should be very funny!!!!This set was awesome!
Loved the jacket and the wig that came with it. Very cool look and pretty good quality material. I was afraid of it being too hot, but was able to wear it all night and not get uncomfortable. Fun costume!Functional
Overall the costume is as advertised. I purchased the XL version.
The headpiece is a flexible plastic/rubber with fake hair in two pieces on each side. It uses elastic to hold it in place. A little tight but I have a large head.
The gloves are are a poly stretch material and rather cheap looking (did not use them as they were ill fitting.)
The smock is just that. A pull over smock with printed decals. It fit fine and was fairly true to size (I have 46 inch shoulders and it was just big enough to allow movement).
It sufficed for my purposes and time constraints, but you could easily assemble a better version of this by picking up individual items (wig, gloves smock/lab coat) and building it yourself.> Click to See Editorial Reviews

I have not been to a costume party/dinner for many years so when the opportunity arose this past Halloween, I said to myself "Why not?". I looked around for ideas and even went to a large local costume store plus a lot of on-line shopping. Everything I looked at seemed flimsy, especially the ones I tried on at the local shop. I settled on this one because it advertised as being a true X-large size (I'm a 48 chest) and the ones at the local shop were all too tight. I am really glad I made this selection. When it arrived and I opened the heavy box, I was pleasantly surprised. For just over $30, the costume was made of substantial material with detailed and realistic trimmings including the built-in velvet mantel.....I did add (at some additional cost)a hood and a half-face mask from another source to complete the look I wanted. (total outlay around $50) I wore black sandals from my existing shoes to finish things off. This costume is warm worn over even light clothing. Might be too...nicely designed
Very nice costume and nice heavy material as well so you are definitely getting your moneys worth for it. Very authentic, I went to a party with it and the party was in a non heated garage and everyone was cold but I was not cold at all it was very comfortable and also works great for hiding beers in your long sleeves. I got this costume on sale at a local Spencer's Gifts years ago. The robe fabric is surprisingly heavy (not paper-thin and flimsy that exposes you in the wrong places), and the top part is an equally heavy velvet. The elbows have an elasticity around them which enables the lower, draping arm sleeve to hang right. I bought this as a Christmas present -- yes, someone's Christmas list actually had a "Chiquita Banana hat" on it. The person making the request is way too young to know who Carmen Miranda is, but I knew immediately and thus started my quest to find a reasonably priced hat.
The base of the hat is slightly stretchy, and it is a snug fit on a larger head but not uncomfortably snug. I could see this fitting someone with a smaller head as well because of the stretch factor. The two-tone sequins (red and purple) create a perfectly silly but joyful base for the real stars of the show: the glitter fruits. The grapes on this hat do not drape as much as shown in the picture, but maybe that's because the person here who was wearing it has a larger head. The glitter did not come off excessively even though it was handled a whole lot the first day, but the feathers at the top rear are a bit touchy and have the tendency to fall off. I used this hat for a theatre production. I hurriedly put it on over 15 times without tearing all the fruit off. Although it was designed for "costume use" it really held up pretty well considering the abuse it took and looked sparkly and pretty under the stage lights. I am saving it for future costume use. I purchased this for my daughter for Halloween. The sizing appears to be fairly accurate. The material is nice (do not wash it with other clothes, you will ruin them!) and survived a trip through my washer and dryer. The only downside is that it is REALLY low cut. If you are an adult and do not mind cleavage, then this would be great. For a younger person (pre-teen, teen) you will need to find something go go underneath.

I had to buy this costume from BrandsOnSale because it was the only place online having it in stock. The price was $120, while all stores online sold it for ~$50.
The costume doesn't really look like in the picture, and the vinyl of the gauntlets and helmet smells like hell.Kinda akward, but Spartan approved
First of all I have to say i'm a fan of the movie and man, it was awesome. Now upon looking at the picture of this costume, I was dissapointed on how it was made. It totally looks toga like or romanish, but nevertheless I wanted it. I believe this one is the deluxe version. I wanted this one cause it had the shin guards unlike the regular costume. Now when I got it the armor including the helmet was all mad from vinyl. They have that spandex thing on them, so any person would have no problem putting them on. The helmet also has it to, to make the helmet look tight on your head. It's comfortable and it doesn't bother your neck. Also about the helmet it's kinda floppy just any ordinary halloween mask, but as you put it on it takes shape. Now the main part of the costume, it's really much silk like but soft too. I recommmend you put it on carefully cause it's kinda thin you know. I have not torn mine, but i just wanna let you know. When it's on there's a part in the back where you have...Cheap, uncomfortable, smelly
Everything is made of rubber. Does not look good, is not comfortable and smells like rubber bands.

I can also go without it, and it still looks good. The biggest problem I had was that the size says PLUS, and they sent me a standard. Lucky for me, I've lost weight & it did fit.

I loved this for the most part. The mask works how it is supposed to. There is a catch. Half of the upper lip was not attached to the plastic piece that raises the upper lip to give the mouth moving effect. I was expecting this, based on other reviews, so I just bought some rubber cement to fix the issue. I wrapped blue masking tape around the mask over the glued lip to hold the lip down until dry and now it works fine. The costume was nice except the white hands have squared off finger tips. I didn't care for that. Looked kind of cheesy. This set has its flaws but good costume overall.don't bother
In the process of getting the foam inserts in the mask it broke (ones that allow it to fit to your face). The parts that allow the face to move are cheap plastic and after opening and closing the mouth a few time they will all break. its a shame, this is a very cool idea and has some good potential, but they cheaped out on a few of vital parts that make this mask unique.> Click to See Editorial Reviews

You know the old saying about how we can always depend on Death and Taxes? I've searched for a Tax Collector and IRS agent costume.. seems you just have to use your imagination, a clipboard and briefcase, because I've not been able to find any for sale.
Several years ago, I bought one of these costumes (not from Amazon and mask was not included). It remains a classic, has held up beautifully and simply refuses to go out of style. Definitely buy a plastic scythe (*not* a sickle). A metal blade is better, but real scythes are usually expensive, can be quite dangerous and are a bummer to haul around after awhile. You can wear the mask or buy some white (glow in the dark is best) and black or dark grey makeup and invent your own 'hollow eye socket' effects... get one of those chintzy "official" long straight 'platinum blonde' Lady GaGa wigs and make the hair stick out at odd angles under your hood or use a stocking cap, gauze and heavy white makeup to create the look of a bald...> Click to See Editorial Reviews

Ok, so I had to buy it x-large because the waist is very small. Its like its made for super models. I ordered this in the last week of January and received it yesterday (because of new years and I understand). I had it custom made. It comes with the top, skirt, tie, the belt for the skirt, the sleeves, socks, and the two hair pins. The cosplay is in great quality and they were right about the mesurements that I gave and it fits. I thought that the socks will slip because my thighs were big, but it didn't slip! :D The only few problems that I had was that the sleeves didn't fit my arms and didn't go all the way (it went up to little past my elbows. I guess working my arms out should help) and for one of the hair pins, the clip part came off (but I was able 2 glue it back together and plus when I put it on the pigtails, it stays in place without the clips). Other than that this cosplay is amazing!!!I love this Cosplay! Its exactly what I had hoped for!!
This cosplay is well made. I have had it since Feb 19th and I love it! It fits perfect! Though It can be a bit of a diva with the zipper on both the shirt and Skirt.
The skirt will be short, so I suggest you wear some shorts of some kind under it. And the zippers can be divas, like I said. But overall with all that you get with this, its awesome.

I love this costume and am happy with it, but I did have some little problems. I read other reviews that said the vest was too small and had that problem too, but I chose not to send it back for a larger size because the dress itself fit fine and didn't want to risk getting a dress that was too big just for the vest. That was my only real issue, but the belt also was a little small (but easily replaceable) and the plastic boning on the vest poked out really quickly. Other than that, I love that it's all separate. It's a beautiful shade of red, and looks great without the vest (so long as you have a belt. A wide belt really brings the whole look together without the vest.) I'm very pleased with it, even with the little issues, because this is still one of the best costumes I've ever purchased.Gorgeous Costume!!
I absolutely love this costume! It is exactly as pictured. The quality of the costume is much better than I was expecting. I ordered this in early October to ensure that I had time to exchange it for a different size if needed. Fortunately, using the measurements guide, it fits perfectly! I'm giving this item 5 stars because I love it. However, I was not able to purchase it from this site. There are two descriptions. One is BROWN and the other is RED. I looked back and forth multiple times and could see no difference between the "Brown" item and the "Red" item. Despite that, I wasn't going to take a chance (with Halloween so near) of ordering something that might ship to me in brown (?) when I wanted red. I'm not even clear on what part of the costume might have been brown anyway. The dress, perhaps?

The fit was just right and everything appeared great...then about an hour into the day I realized the green layer was starting to come apart and shred everywhere! I didn't do anything to cause this as I was just sitting at home passing out candy since we have a new baby. I had hoped to be able to wear it next year also but now that's not going to happen since it was made so terribly!costume
Cute costume but the hat does not fit. I had my sister and some friends try it on it doesn't fit, falls off even with pins holding i on, and doesn't cover butt. Wear boy shorts!Cute

Was a little disappointed that the wrists on the shirt and the bottoms of the knickers had cheap/flimsy tie strings. It's easy enough to put elastic in them (no significant sewing skills required). I think that shows that the costume is great! It has everything you need to be DJ Lance and the fit was great. My husband has a 30 inch waist, so the small wasn't SKIN TIGHT on him the way DJ Lance has it on the show (which was a good thing).

I'm a petite woman that needed a Spiderman costume for a dance number in our annual recital. I kept seeing costumes for very large men. Then I stumbled upon this one. I had to gamble on it because I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone regarding length. I'm glad I did because it fits fine. Its still HUGE on me, but the muscles disguise that well. I had to sew a basting stitch from lower leg to ankle and lower arm to wrist to make them look fitted, ALTHOUGH that could have just been safety pinned. BTW THE MASK doesn't go long enough down the neck so A LOT of skin shows. I had to buy a separate mask that has a long neck line and goes down chest. My youngest son needed an inexpensive Santa jacket for a short Christmas play, and this product fit the bill. My older son also wore it to film a video for our Church Christmas program. The jacket held up for both activities, but we had to throw it away after that. However, that was about what I expected for the price. The jacket and hat are not plush like traditional Santa suits. Rather, they are constructed of a felt-like material that will pill and come apart with time and use. Again, this is an inexpensive piece, so it met my expectations. The belt is a thin synthetic material with a plastic buckle. We pinned it in place, and it served its purpose nicely. If you're looking for an authentic-looking, durable costume, I suggest you look elsewhere. I bought it for my son in a small, he is pretty tall for his age and it was a little big so just keep in mind that it runs about 1 size bigger. I tightened up the boot covers with the lace and it really looks like the pants are tucked into the boots! My son loved it and it looks like a real uniform.
