I took a chance and bought the medium size for my 6 year old. It is perfect for her, and I appreciate that for a smaller child, the dress goes down to her knees. Will look super cute with black leggings. Unlike another reviewer, we have no problems with the headband falling off. I would recommend that anyone who purchases this costumes keep in mind that it runs very small. There's a big difference between a tween and a 6 year old!
Was perfect for Halloween
I bought this a size bigger and it ended up being a good size for my daughter. She could wear a long sleeve shirt under it with leggings, since it was cooler. She could have worn it by itself, if it had been warmer. I found years ago that I needed to buy a bigger size for costumes than what the guidelines state.
Cute costume
Like any other costume these days, this one is made from very thin material but it is cute. It only comes with the dress with the attached tail and the headband. We already had black tights and black shoes and of course my daughter made some bracelets so she could look just like the picture. The headband stood upright like it should as well as the tail. Nothing to complain about here.
