We bought size 4-6 for my average sized 5 year old, and it was a little tight. Will require leggings if you go out trick or treating in colder weather, like we do (northeast). My daughter looked adorable! and loved it. The wings don't stay on very well, the velcro as usual never works too well. We used safety pins to keep them firmly attached. We bought antennae from iParty to complete the outfit.
