My daughter's school did a play involving pirates, sailors, mermaids, fish and tourists; she had her heart set on being a mermaid. I didn't want her to show much skin, but also didn't want the clunky "wear clothes under costume" look. I was very happy to find this costume! She looked very mermaid-ish, and unique from the other mermaids on the stage at the time. I may be biased but I thought she was the prettiest mermaid on stage. Note: She generally wears size 7-8 girls' clothing, this costume size of 8-10 fit her perfectly.
