Many of my friends and their friends are economically displaced migrant workers. It is U.S. trade policies like NAFTA and CAFTA that displace construction workers and farmers from their own countries and force them to risk their lives to find work across our borders.
Come to think of it, many of our ancestors came into this country without proper paperwork, so if one of us is deemed illegal, than all of us should be. At one time, our continents were joined, so really, none of us is illegal. It is offensive to label other human beings, our brothers and sisters as illegal, and then to make fun of them with this costume.
