Five minutes out of the package, a piece fell off the light saber handle and had to be glued back on. One week later the light no longer works and it's not the batteries, but the connection with the switch. All in all, everything feels chintzy and cheap and I'm embarrassed I spent the money that I did on it.

We bought this for our young son a couple of Halloweens ago and it still gets plenty of use as he reenacts scenes from Star Wars. When he first put it on we all cracked up - it was hilarious to see such a short Darth Vader swinging his light saber around. For an inexpensive costume, the detail in it is great.
At first, we thought the mask and saber were cheaply made but they have have held up very well. Consider that they've been used by a toddler for over a year and are still in fine shape!
a little confused
I was not aware that the costume ties around the waist, and does not have arms or a back, just a cape. Still, it worked well for my little Darth on Halloween.
