Not durable enough for actors or people who need it to last a long time.
Basic construction and medium quality materials make it look nice but its not super tough. Would be fine for a night or two but if you need something for long term use I recommend you look elsewhere. Cotton thread for tying up is cheap and flimsy, I will possibly replace with leather cord. The large model fits my chubby body nicely and it looks good over my pirate shirt. I think you should try to get as slim a fit as possible to make it look nice.

We got this for our Disney Cruise for the dress like a pirate night. It's very well made and should hold up for years and year. It really completed my outfit. I definitely recommend it.
