we bought this for a Halloween costume its just okay not the best thing but needed something quick for a party
Good looking costume
I wore this on Halloween this year. It is surprisingly well made. The "poncho" is pretty comfortable, and the holsters easily carried a bottle of tequila. The shot glasses don't stay in the loops very well, but it's good enough. The sombrero is also pretty cool. If you want a basic costume that doesn't make you invest too much money, wear a mask, or look completely stupid, this is a solid idea.
And to the people saying this is racist: you're way too easily offended. I have several mexican friends who thought this was hilarious. In fact, every hispanic person I ran into on Halloween gave me a high five and wanted some tequila. There is nothing even vaguely racist about this.
mixed feelings
i had a great time in this costume and received many warm laughs about it. the problem was the cheap plastic shot glasses on the belt. they fell off all night long and i got tired of picking them up. i also assumed that the plastic tequila bottles came with, but did not. i believe that this was supposed to be a more functional costume where you actually have tequila and pour shots, but those shot glasses will keep you busy all night chasing them around. my advice is to tape the shot glasses or glue them to the belt and use Pacifico beer (just for looks) on the pistol holsters since it is cheaper then buying two bottles of Tequila which also weigh more. overall, it was not a bad costume but requires a little work to make it ready to leave the house. it also doubles as a good Cinco De Mayo outfit.
