Had to buy a blond wig to complete the look but it was worth it. Everyone RAVED about this costume. Random people asked to take pictures, coworkers made special trips to my cube to see (everyone was talking about little ole me). They all thought I was a genius and soooo creative. It was the most praise I have ever received on Halloween. Pop-culture and cult-classic at the same time, you can't go wrong. I added subtle little bloody scratches to my face, arms and legs to make it a bit more scary.
Now the details.
Pros:
1. Fits perfectly. I'm 5'8 and a size 8 and had no problems.
2. Length is perfect- work appropriate.
3. Color is actually more true to the movie, olive muted green, not bright green as shown in pic - I consider that a plus.
4. Wrist birds and headband bird are easy to adjust and pull off and on.
Cons:
1. Bird quality isn't great. Lot's of lose threads and no detail whatsoever. Hard to tell what they are at night.
2...don't understand all the complaints
I don't understand what all the complaints are about this costume. Mine just arrived and I am thrilled with it. I was afraid to order it based on many bad reviews, so I thought I'd order well before Halloween in case I had to return it. I just tried it on and I can't wait to wear it. It is hilarious. I wonder if the company improved the quality of the birds because I think they're great. I almost bought some separately because so many reviews said the bird quality was sub-standard, but these birds are plush and have great red sparkly eyes. I am really excited to wear this for Halloween. Will probably add some fake blood and scratches.major disappointment, but a full refund was given
The few reviews I read on this costume were pretty good, so I went for it. However, the costume I got was NOT like the one in the picture. It was cheap looking and VERY ill fitting. The birds didn't look like birds at all. They looked more like whales with birth defects. They are all cloth.... even the beaks. As ou can imagine, after being crammed in a bag they were all smooshed and didn't even remotely resemble a beak. Their wings were smooshy and not even shaped like wings. That being said, I wrote to the company and they emailed me a shipping lable and issuded a full refund and they did it very promptly. WHile this particular costume may not have been a winner, I a would try them again for a different costume. This costume looks awesome in the picture, but when it arrived it was not of the nice quality that I thought it would be. The hat is felt and looks pretty bad once it's been shipped. The shirt, jacket and vest are nice. The corset part is fabric with a velcro fastener. the belt is just fabric with a plastic buckle. The boot covers are fine, and the pants are OK, but I wore my own pair of leggings. I also used a bandana instead of the hat, didn't use the corset and used my own belt. For what I paid, I was expecting something better. I should have just bought a $40 costume, for all this was.DON"T BUY!
I am going to keep this short and to the point. When I saw the costume on amazon, I thought it was an okay costume. I knew it wasn't the best quality. However, when I recieved it in the mail, it was a piece of crud! I bought a medium and the jacket, shirt, belt, and corset were to big! The pants on the other hand were to small, and as soon as I put them on the pants started to rip. This costume should be only $20! All in all, do NOT buy this costume.Was it Worth it?
If you're going to price something so highly, it better be a really good quality material that took time and energy to make. I honestly could've got the same exact thing at Walmart or Goodwill for half the price if not $15.00 or less. The hat doesn't even fit and is all weird. The costume is cute on, until you have to walk in it. The stockings don't stay up, even with the garters,and the garters only attach in the front.They should have them front and back. Also, the hat doesn't fit...so that doesn't stay on either! And there's really no way to pin it. I ordered this costume last minute and it arrived just in time for the party I was going to. It's labeled as a "Hercules" costume, but I said I was a "Roman Soldier" and it was a big hit (it doesn't include the wig, sword, or sandals, btw). I wore it a couple times that weekend. The only issue was that it was a plus-size costume (I'm not a small guy) but the arm bands were too big for my forearms while the leg straps were a bit too small for my calves, so I had to do a bit of custom tailoring before I left. It wasn't a big problem, everything worked out, and I looked great!Awesome costume. Pretty well made
I wore this with the shoes that I also reviewed for Halloween 2011. I didn't wear the arm bands as they are kinda cheap looking but the rest of the costume was great. I'm a 52" chest and this fit me great. It ties in the back so it will fit anyone within reason.pleased

This halloween costume was a complete, utter failure save for the cape.
1. The Mask. The most important part of the costume. Without it, the entire costume is worthless, and considering it is the cheapest but most essential part of the costume, you might have thought that the designers would pour utmost care into designing it. Firstly, the eye slits are positioned ALMOST DIRECTLY BESIDE THE NOSE. Unless there are aliens with this aforementioned facial feature, i doubt the mask could be worn by anyone. Secondly, the eye slits are EXTREMELY SMALL. I found this out when i just tried to place an eye into the slit without caring to wear the mask and discovered that i could not open my eyes fully. Finally, the mask is of very low quality, a cheap plastic that came to be slightly bent.
2. The Bow tie. Whaa? YOU CALL THAT A BOW TIE? Attached to a an elastic band? Which FELL OFF AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF DANCING? It was a slow dance too.
3. The Vest. Obviously,...Great Costume but Needs a Hat
This was a great costume; everyone liked it . . . but they all asked me where my hat was . . . To be authentic, the Phantom needs a Hat.Phantom of the Opera Costume

(see attached picture) Very nice costume. I appreciate this costume more now that I purchased another, pricer one that was of the same material that did not look nearly as good on. I am tall (5 foot 10) and the costume was length wise just right. You will probably pin this or get hoop or something to poof it up if your are on the shorter side. I ordered a size up and while I had plenty of room was glad I did. The hat was way too small to wear just alone. I was able to pin it and it looked and stayed fine. I got matching black and green socks on line for a few dollars more (via Amazon) and they really made the outfit. What is nice about this plus size costume is the arms are cut so that if you do not have slender ones there is lots and lots of wiggle room. The costume was worn three times last Halloween and has been given to a friend to wear again and still looks good. The strings in front are adjustable so if you have some room to adjust if you want to fit the bodice...I love it!!
I started planning this costume last year when I was pregnant. I knew that I wanted to be the Witch of the East and my son to be the lion. I looked at several costumes but loved the look of this one. The material is ver nice and a much higher quality than I expected. I am a size 20 and because of breastfeeding have a very large chest but I do not feel at all overexposed. The dress is very comfortable. I am only 5-3 so I did need to hem the skirt but if you are tall that would be no problem. The hat is very cute but awfully narrow and would not fit over my head, this I solved by hot gluing it to a wide headband. Now I can wear it at a cute angle. Ok, it is really cute, but not made to last. Also, believe the other reviews; it is big! Not as in length, if your child is an average weight for her age, then chances are you will have to have these fixed to fit her. The fact that it is too loose and the material is cheap, make it impossible for the wings to stay put. I still did not have time to fix it, so the wings are hanging on the closet, but my daughter gets to dress up a bit and play in the yard. Another thing to be wary of, wash it by hand. It is fragile and I can see that if I put that in my washer it will destroy it. It just amazes me that Disney puts their name in things that are not well made, and not made to work properly. After all, the wings should be the most fun part of this dress and it has to stay out of the play (that's why 3 stars for fun only). I think they do these things because they have no competition. So they win and we consumers lose. I hate that.get out your sewing machine
Like other Disney dress-up costumes we've had, this one needs work...lots of it. The sizing is awful, so be prepared to do some alterations before your little princess can wear it. The costume runs a little small overall, tight around the tummy and pretty short, but due to the location of the velcro on the back, it gapes open and the wings are almost parallel to the floor when they are attached to the back. I had to remove all of the velcro and reattach it so the dress would close tighter at the top. Also, the shoulder straps are way too long for a 4 year-old; I had to shorten them by over an each so they would stay on my daughter's shoulders.
It's durability is yet to be confirmed, but if it follows previous Disney outfits, I'll keep my sewing machine out...lots of mending and repairing are expected, as it simply falls apart with wear.

I was so excited to receive my Halloween costume in the mail today. This is the most money I've ever spent on a Halloween costume (partly because I had an Amazon gift card to use!) but it is so much nicer than the cheap-looking costumes you get at run of the mill Halloween stores. The fabric looks and feels like real velvet and silk. The fit in medium is good - I'm 5'8" and usually wear a size 6 - and it is flattering and classy without being too sexy - I needed a costume that is appropriate to wear to an elementary school. Two minor problems though: the gem on the brooch of the cape fell off as soon as I took it out of the garment bag and will have to be super-glued back on; and there is a small weird stain on the chiffon just under the belt, not very noticeable but I still expect things to be stain-free when I buy them new.About What I Expected
It's a very beautiful costume, made for someone with an enormous bust. I was pretty sure that would be the case, so I bought it knowing I would have to pay for alterations, but that does knock its rating down a star. It arrived in good condition with just a few stray threads. Keep in mind when buying costumes that they're COSTUMES and WILL be made of inferior materials since they're only meant to be worn one day of the year; that said, it is very nice for what it is.manga

My son wanted to be a swat/policeman for halloween, so he picked this costume out himself. It looks pretty cool in the pic, however when we got it. it was the cheapest thing ive ever seen. they have nicer costumes at walmart! First of all its made of thin shiny polyester that was A ONE PIECE that tied in the back...the sizing was too small, so it stayed up his rear end all night. the vest came in plastic pieces tha bet you had to velcro together! a big pain! the knee and elbow pads are also separate pieces that have to be velcroed together. and the helmet is not breathable....no holes...no shoes...and the gun holster wouldnt even hold his gun...btw..no gun comes with it.lol...it was just a cheap, cheap costume and we were very disappointed.Great costume!!!
My son loves this costume. After Halloween he has kept wearing it to play in. Everyone who has saw it loves it too. I would recommend this to anyone.aaaaaaaaaawsome!!!!!!!!!!

Had an 80s birthday party and the costume was a big hit with everyone there. The only problems are that the skirt is see through so you need to have a pair a black shorts underneath... I just wore a pair of gym shorts. And that also I'm tiny but if you are thin it might be a bit baggy, but still fits comfortably. Everyone loved the costume and commented on it during the party and even weeks afterward. It also worked well in the Australian heat. I wore a pair hot pink leg warmers with it, which sadly I owned already, and a pair of black high heel shoes... pulled it all together very well and brought me back to my younger years... very Cindy Lauper!not for women with a chest

I enjoyed the costume and received it on time and in order. Please note the rest of this review is of the product only and does reflect on the seller.
The back of the costume is tied together. After wearing the costume a few times, the strings became hopelessly tangled and had to cut to get out of the costume. Velcro would have made more sense. I recommend anyone buying this costume attach some Velcro strips from a store like Walmart or hobby store and cut off the strings.Great costume for the price.
This is a very entertaining costume. It ties in the back which is annoying but this can be fix easily with a single safty pin. Buyer beware if you are over 6'3". I stupidly assumed that by buying a more expensive costume that it would be a higher quality. it even came in a huge box so i thought it was packaged with care. but no, it was stuffed in the same small plastic pouch that all costumes at a costume shop are stuffed in and the rest of the box had those air pockets. the costume was stuffed in this tiny bag, the feathers were therefore wilted and falling apart. the tutu was cheap. and although the medium fit me around, it was made for a medium midget. the corset went down to my belly button and the tutu is to be worn at the hips. sexy, i know.
