I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this costume, because it was under $30 with tax and shipping I was afraid it would be "paper thin" like some of the others were described. I was surprised to find that it is actually made of real fabric. Well, is polyester considered real fabric? I'm going to say yes when it comes to costumes. I like that it comes in two separate pieces, makes it versatile for future uses. The under piece is polyester but you can't really tell by looking at it. Polyester is great because you don't have to worry about it staining if you spill your grog on it. And unlike some costumes, you can put the under piece in the washer and dryer with no problems. The faux velvet over piece was pretty decent compared to other Halloween faux velvets out there. It lays nicely over the under piece. I'm a size 16, 5'9" and the X-Large fit perfectly, exactly like the picture. I ordered it standard delivery and it came in 8 days, not bad!
