I was pleasantly surprised that such an affordable costume was made well out of the faux velvet - it has some weight to it. It's comfortable and hangs well.
Not as nice as the picture.
The straps on this costume are huge & hang off. They have to be ironed (along with the whole apron) and starched in order to lay flat, as they are supposed to. I had to cut the straps to shorten them, then sew them on by hand just so they would look decent. The top of the costume was huge, but the bottom half fit me properly. I had to alter this costume quite a bit. In the end, it worked out. But I think it was overpriced for what it was.
