Cute but disappointing
I am 5'10 and generally wear a size 22. I purchased this costume in the largest size (3x/4x) and I am the absolutely biggest person who will fit inside this costume.

Considering the price of this costume I was expecting a little better quality. The skirt portion is great, it's a nice stretchy "crushed velvet" sort of material that is comfortable to wear. Perfect floor length on me. The bodice has very little stretch to it and the gold design looks a lot cheaper and more poorly done in person than it does in the picture. Also - every picture I've seen of this costume is clearly photo-shopped. The chest of this costume is sewn into perfect cone shaped points, it's pretty ridiculous looking. Also in pictures of the cape make it look like it's a flowing satiny material - see the way it shines in the picture? And lays flat against the model? It's actually a cheap lightweight nylon material that you might make a kite out of. It doesn't lay down like that, it trails...

Not as pictured, poor construction
I found the picture to be a little misleading. I bought a size small (for a size 34 bust) and had so much extra room I could have fit a friend in there with me. The bodice is not very form fitting, especially around the waist (which is elastic) and in the cups (which are just pancake circles of padding that don't conform to your body, and there is a weird dart running from the side of the bodice to the front with a Madonna-style point
It was actually cheaper to bring the thing to a seamstress than to pay for return shipping and the restocking fee. I tried to have the bodice taken in, but the material was so cheap that the fabric ran and the padding disintegrated (honestly not the seamstresses fault, the quality was just that poor). I ended up having a new top made, which was still cheaper than sending it back.
I'm not sure how they were able to conform the dress to the model in the picture. Guess you have to be amazingly busty for this costume to look halfway decent...

Gorgeous and well made
This costume is gorgeous, well made and well fitting. I'm petite and glad I ordered medium as sometimes smalls are way too small in the wrong places. Very satisfied with this costume and with the merchant 7th Avenue!!
