First off, I am not a dancer and can't review this skirt for performance in that area! I use it for part of a Renaissance costume.
I am 5'3" and this skirt is very long on me, which I expected from reading other reviews. I am using it with a renaissance costume though, so between hiking it up beneath my breasts to cinch it beneath a corset and the use of a hoop skirt or crinoline it does give it enough lift that it fits my height perfectly. With the corset and this skirt only, I am able to walk in it with one hand holding it up in the front a little and the back trailing (which is period appropriate). This is my "middle" skirt out of a 2 skirt and bustle set so I actually pull it up further beneath the corset to reveal the bottom patterned under skirt in the front. The extra length and material of the skirt on my height actually allows the skirt to be very flexible in this period of costuming, providing multiple tucking options for skirt layering. I think...

I am 5' 9" and was concerned about the length. I was delighted when I received the item and it fit beautifully. The construction of the garment for the price is excellent, and it has great movement. I like this skirt better than the 25-yd skirt. It is not as bulky but still has a sufficient amount of material to flow out when dancing. It exceeded my expectations.
